Nurturing the youth?

Supporting the internship programmes organised by Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Association and Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China for the third and first time respectively, this year, K. Wah International Holdings ("KWIH") welcomed seven interns from the universities in Hong Kong and Shanghai to join our Shanghai office for six weeks. Apart from on-the-job training, interns visited our residential and commercial projects, and serviced apartments in Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou to understand the property market in Mainland China. They also enjoyed various staff activities which brought them closer together!

To celebrate the 10th Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition (CIRECC), Cornell University co-hosted the first Annual Cornell CUHK Regional Real Estate Competition, Asia with the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The contest was sponsored exclusively by KWIH. Eight undergraduate teams from schools in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia had four days to analyse an actual transaction and present their analysis and recommendations to a panel of international real estate executives. The winners are CUHK team (Champion), HKU team (1st runner-up), and PolyU team (2nd runner-up), who had participated in the finals in New York in November. The CIRECC provides students an opportunity to put their knowledge into first-hand practice through the real-world challenging real estate cases, which facilitate them having competitive edge when joining the workplace after graduation.

Wah Group made a donation of RMB 120 million to Peking University in establishing the "Lui Che Woo School of Life Sciences Fund" to support the development of the school and the construction of a new School of Life Sciences Building, which will be named as Lui Che Woo Building. Two national laboratories, one key laboratory supported by the Ministry of Education and different types of research centres will be housed upon completion of the building in early 2018.
Professor Lin Jianhua, President of Peking University presented the "Peking University Outstanding Educational Contribution Awards" to Dr Lui in recognition of his untiring support to education. Professor Lin mentioned delightfully that the donation coincides with the 120th anniversary of Peking University in 2018. Dr Lui presented a Chinese calligraphy to wish Peking University success in their research and innovations for the welfare of mankind.

On 27 October 2016, more than 300 guests, teachers and students attended the Jia Hui Cheng School Handover cum the Establishment of K. Wah Education Fund Ceremony to witness and celebrate the historical moment together. During the ceremony, KWIH also announced the establishment of K. Wah Education Fund amounting to RMB 1 million.

As a property with superb living environment and easy access to ancillary thorough facilities, J Metropolis today is even developed with rich educational resources.
